If you noticed Jason Day playing as a single today
At The Traveler’s Championship
Here’s why:

This week on the PGA Tour,
2 caddies and 1 player have tested positive for COVID-19
Caddies of Graeme McDowell and Brooks Koepka tested postitive
As well as player, Cameron Champ

This is a sign of caution for the players
And Jason Day requested to be tested before today’s round
With the test results not being ready before Jason was set to tee off
It was neccessary that he remain ‘quarantined’ on the course as a single

Jason’s test results came back negative about an hour later,
But he will be completing the round as a single today

Only 7 positive cases have arisen out of over 2750 tests
In the 3 events they have played since resuming the season
The PGA Tour is taking the proper precautions
And the players are following suit
With 5 golfers withdrawing this week
(Webb Simpson, Brooks Koepka, Chase Koepka, Graeme McDowell, and Cameron Champ)
Cameron being the only player with a positive test
The others WD due to being in close proximity to a positive case

The PGA Tour will continue to strengthen their protocol
And the players will continue to do their part of minimizing risk
And we hope PGA Tour golf will continue if that is done

Stay Safe
