Dylan Wu golf swing. follow through with a hybrid. Golf by the beach

Is Dylan Wu a living Happy Gilmore?
“I’m a hockey player, but I’m playing golf today”

Well Dylan grew up playing hockey.
When he realized he wasn’t going to meet the physical requirements
Of a professional hockey player…
He switched to golf
And Angela believes he is going to be the Korn Ferry Tour Champion

Here’s why:
After a successful AJGA career
He showed his decision to play golf was the right one
He became the #1 Ranked Golfer in the state of Oregon

Attending Northwestern University,
He captured his first individual victory at the Gifford Collegiate
Shooting under par all three rounds.
During his Junior year – his scoring average of 70.53
Was the third lowest in program history.

And because of his skilled playing…
He was named 1st team Big Ten
Sophomore, Junior and Senior year.

After graduating NU in 2018,
Dylan began to play on the Mackenzie Tour
And trying his luck in the difficult road
Of Monday Qualifiers on the Korn Ferry Tour.

As he was preparing to fly to another Mackenzie Tour Event…
He received a phone call
He was going to play in his first Korn Ferry Tour Event
At the Lincoln Land Championship.

He faced a turning point
He changed his flight and took a red-eye plane to Chicago
Driving three hours to the tournament course
Riding the wave of excitement…
On the final day he found himself in a playoff to win
Although he fell just short of victory…
It allowed him to qualifiy for the rest of the Korn Ferry Season
A HUGE relief to a player after grinding for spots
Through Monday Qualifiers up until that point

And Dylan didn’t stop there
He Monday Qualified for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
On the PGA Tour!
His first 9 holes on the PGA Tour he was 6-Under!
But his next 27 holes were a roller coaster
And he ended up missing the cut.
During his interview with Adam Stanley in April on PGATOUR.COM,
He said that he’d learned from his mistakes
And was able to learn from the experience.

In January 2020 on the Korn Ferry Tour
Dylan played in the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic…
He placed second, four shots behind the lead.
And continued his strong play
As he placed seventh at the Panama Championship, 3 shots behind the winner.

Besides golf, Dylan is also a big foodie.
“Eat well to play well”, Dylan’s girlfriend has told him.
He enjoys playing on tour as well as exploring the food from anywhere he travels.
His passion for food gives him confidence that
he would become a food critic if he had to choose a new profession

With Professional Golf back on track …
I believe Dylan’s grinder mentality and resilience will contribute to trophies, accomplishment, as well as stepping onto the PGA Tour.

Go Dylan!!!
